Are you considering giving your home a fresh coat of paint? Whether you’re looking to increase your home’s curb appeal or simply want to change things up, exterior house painting is a great way to do it. In this blog post, we’ll walk you through the process of exterior house painting in Wellington so that you know what to expect.

Preparation is Key

The first step in any exterior house painting project is preparation. This involves pressure washing the surface of your home to remove any dirt, dust, or debris. Once the surface is clean, any cracked or chipped paint will need to be sanded down so that the new paint will have a smooth surface to adhere to. Similarly, any holes or cracks in the siding should be filled in with caulk prior to painting.

Choosing the Right Paint

Once your home is prepped and ready, it’s time to choose the right paint. When selecting paint for the exterior of your home, it’s important to choose a type that is specifically designed for outdoor use. These paints are typically made with latex or acrylic resins and contain UV protection to help prevent fading.

As far as color goes, it’s important to select a shade that compliments your home’s existing features. If you’re unsure of what color to choose, feel free to consult with a professional painter – they will be able to offer advice on which colors will work best for your home.
